How do I send promotional information (newsletter) to my community?

To send an email to all the event participants, you need to create a new Promotional Email campaign.

Shotgun allows you to create two types of email campaigns:

1. Promotional Emails: Those emails will only be sent to contacts who have accepted to receive marketing emails from you. You will be able to send those emails to your entire Shotgun community or to specific segments of your community.
   
   You should use this type of email when you want for example to promote the launch of a new event or share some news with your community.
   
   
2. Practical Emails: Those emails will be sent to all the participants of a specific event (even those who didn't accept receiving emails from you).

From your Smartboard, you can either create a Promotional Email from the Marketing section or from the Events section.

Create a Promotional email from the Marketing Section

1. Visit the Marketing section
2. Click on Send an email from the Campaigns tab
3. Enter your campaign name
4. Define your target audience: Select Promotional email
5. You have the choice to send promotional emails to your entire community or to specific contact segments
6. Click on Save audience

Create a Promotional email from the Events Section

1. Visit the Event
2. Go to Promote > Campaigns
3. Click on Send an email
4. Enter your campaign name
5. Define your target audience: Select Promotional email
6. You have the choice to send promotional emails to your entire community or to specific contact segments
7. Click on Save audience

Edit the subject and content

Once the target audience has been set, you can edit the subject line and the content of your email campaign.
