Before the event
Log in Backstage app
As an office staff
You log in with your usual Backstage workspace credentials.
As a field staff
Have a dedicated field staff and want to give them access to Backstage app without sharing your credentials?
Create a shared staff account in just a few seconds, which multiple members can use at the same time while only seeing and performing the actions you’ve authorized.

đź’ˇ Even if several people share the same field staff account, each person only sees the activity from their own device
Name each device
Give each device a name in Backstage app, for example the staff member’s name or the entrance they are managing.
This makes it easier to identify which device scanned or sold tickets when reviewing your overall reports.

Scan tickets
Once you are in the Scan module, point your camera at a ticket QR code to check it in.
Use the flash
If the entrance is dark or the QR code is difficult to read, tap the Flash icon to improve visibility.

Check in a ticket manually
Sometimes a fan cannot show a scannable QR code, for example if their phone battery is dead or they cannot find their ticket.
Use Search to find the ticket, then validate the ticket manually.

💡 The scan result shown on screen tells you whether a ticket is valid, already scanned, or cannot be accepted. Understanding these messages helps your team react quickly at the door 👉
