Are you tired of witnessing black market sales of your event tickets and fraudulent activities of people selling fake tickets to your community?
We understand your concern, and that's why Shotgun app allows your customers to resell their tickets securely within the Shotgun app, eliminating any possibility of fraud.
Moreover, you can earn extra revenue thanks to the Resale Upgrade feature. So, sell your tickets with confidence and enjoy your event!
How does the Resale Upgrade work?
We have introduced the Resale Upgrade feature to help you increase your profits from ticket sales. With this feature, your tickets will always be sold at the highest possible price, thereby maximizing your earnings.
Whenever a user resells a ticket, we will cancel their original ticket and, if possible, create a new one at the highest possible price. This means that you will receive additional revenue as a result of this Resale Upgrade.
Let’s take an example
Your event is Sold Out and has the following pricing structure:
If a user decides to resell their regular bird ticket, the original ticket will be canceled, and a new late bird ticket will be generated.
This means that you will have the opportunity to earn extra revenue based on the difference between the price of the late bird ticket and the original regular bird ticket.
- ❌ 1 🎟️ regular bird ticket is canceled - 20€
- ✅ 1 new 🎟️ late bird is generated - 30€
→ The price difference of the tickets is 10€ (30€-20€)
Shotgun charges a 30% fee on the Resale Upgrades
→ You’ve earned an extra revenue of 7€ 💰
Impact on ticket quantities
When your tickets are being upgraded, the quantities of your tickets will change accordingly.
For example
If we upgrade a regular bird ticket to a late bird ticket, one ticket will be removed from the quantity of the regular bird tickets, and one ticket will be added to the quantity of the late bird tickets.
You can check the updated quantity of your tickets by visiting the ticket listing page from the Smartboard:
"-1⚡️" means one ticket has been removed from the quantity
"+1⚡️" means one ticket has been added to the quantity
Extra revenue and Fees
How do you know how much extra revenue you generated?
On the event's ticket listing screen, you can view the revenue generated by the event in two ways:
- REVENUE
- RESALE EXTRA REVENUE
The Revenue, is the global revenue of your event. This amount is the total of all the sales generated by your event, including the resale upgrade revenue.
Revenue = Primary Revenue + Resale Upgrade Revenue
The Resale Extra Revenue, is the net extra revenue you’ve made thanks to the Resale Upgrade feature. The Resale Extra Revenue is calculated based on the price difference of the Resale Upgrades after applying the 30% Resale Upgrade fees.
Resale Extra Revenue = Upgrade Revenue - Shotgun Fees (30%)

These exceptions apply to the following types of tickets:
- Tickets that are only available with a private link
- Tickets that are restricted to a specific segment
- Group tickets
For those types of ticket,
❌ No ticket can be upgraded to those tickets
