Shotgun doesn’t offer a native TikTok Pixel integration. The good news? You can still track all your Shotgun pages in just a few minutes through Google Tag Manager (GTM)—no code edits required.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- An active Google Tag Manager account
- GTM already connected to Shotgun – follow How to connect & use Google Tag Manager?
How to add my TikTok Pixel on Shotgun
Step 1: Locate your TikTok Pixel
- Select your account on your Business center and click on Events Manager
- Copy/paste your Pixel ID
Step 2: Import the official TikTok template into GTM
- In GTM, open your container and select “Templates”.
- Click “Search Gallery” and type “TikTok”.
- Choose “TikTok Pixel Tag” (official template) and click “Add to workspace”.
- Confirm the import.
Step 3: Add your Pixel ID
- Still in GTM, go to “Tags” → click “New” → “Tag Configuration”.
- Select the TikTok Pixel template you just imported.
- Paste your Pixel ID.
- Set the Trigger to “All Pages” (or any specific rule you prefer).
- Click “Save”.
Step 4: Publish your GTM container
- Click “Submit”.
- Enter a version name (e.g. “TikTok Pixel v1”) and hit “Publish”.
Step 5: Verify the Pixel is firing
- Install the TikTok Pixel Helper Chrome extension.
- Visit a live Shotgun page and accept marketing cookies.
- The extension should list your Pixel ID with events like
PageView.
⚠️ Note: The Pixel records data only after installation and only on the web version of Shotgun (not the mobile app). Ad-blockers or cookie refusal will prevent events from firing.
