What it is an exclusive message?
Exclusive Messages is a new promotional feature that lets artists publish short, timely messages to their followers on Shotgun.
These messages are perfect for spotlighting:
- Upcoming events sold on Shotgun
- Newly released music (with no publication date constraints)
They are called exclusive because:
- They appear only to fans who already follow the artist
- They are displayed in high-visibility placements across the app

How it works for fans
In the Shotgun marketplace feed
When fans open the Shotgun app, active Exclusive Messages from artists they follow appear right at the top of their home feed.
- Tapping the message redirects them to the event page (when it promotes an event)
- They can dismiss the message at any time
On the artist page
Exclusive Messages are also shown on the artist’s profile but only to their followers.
- Followers see the active message immediately
- Non-followers see an empty state explaining that an exclusive message exists and that they must follow the artist to view it
How it works for artists
Artists manage Exclusive Messages directly from a new Marketing section inside the Artist Portal.
From here, they can:
- Create a new message
- Choose the destination (e.g., event page)
- Publish or update it at any momen
