👋 What is the promoter’s portal?
You’ve been invited by an organiser to promote events! We are thrilled to have you onboard the Shotgun musical journey. Let’s see how this promoter portal works and what you can do with it
The promoter’s portal (formerly “Resellers portal”) is the place for you to see which events you are promoting, sell tickets and have an eye on the sales you generated.
1. Sell tickets
🔗 Share your event link
For each event on promote, you have a dedicated personal event link (also called “tracking link”). This url redirects to the event page: Shotgun website or app, depending if the person clicking has the app installed or not.
From there, customers can buy tickets to the event.
💡 Note: Organisers can decide to create specific tickets that are only visible using promoter’s event link. If so, your event link will display all tickets for the event, including those exclusive tickets.
✔️ Every sales made using this link count as a sale from you.
🎁 (optional) Share your promo code
Organisers can decide to create your own personal promo code If they do so, you will have a unique promo code that can be used on any tickets for this event
💡Note: The promo code can differ from one event to another, make sure you copy and share the correct one. This also explains why you might have a promo for one event, but not for another.
✔️ Every sales made using your promo code count as a sale from you.
📠 Initiate a sale
Sometimes, you might want to sell a ticket to a customer in-person, face to face*.* You can do it from the promoter portal as well.
-
Online sale: a QR Code is generated and displayed on your device. Show it to the customer, they scan it and will be redirected to the event page. From there, they can pay online using their card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. This QR code is actually the same as your personal event link.
-
(optional) Physical sale: If the organiser enabled the option on your profile, you will also be able to manage your own point of sale. When initiating a sale, you can select among cash, card (using a payment terminal) or check payment. Then enter the customer information, collect the money from the customer, and that’s it! After you validate, the customer receives his ticket via email
⚠️ Make sure you enter the correct email address as it is used to send the ticket to the customer
✔️ Every sales you initiated from the portal count as a sale from you.
2. Monitor your sales
As explained above, we count as “your sales”, any sale using one of the following:
- your personal event link (aka tracking link)
- your promo code
- your QR code
- or any physical sales you initiated (cash, card, check)
All those sales are grouped in the “Monitor” section. From there you can access:
Total net revenue for the organiser (i.e: after Shotgun fees deducted);
Number of tickets sold
The list below display all the orders you generated (some orders might contains several tickets), with the relevant informations.
- Personal informations: Name and email are displayed for physical sales, because you entered those informations. Legally we are not allowed to display personal information of all online sales made using your event link
- Organiser validation: Organisers can enable manual validation on some specific deals. If so, they have to accept the order (within 7 days) before we send the ticket to the customer. Otherwise, s·he is refunded.
❓ FAQ
-
How do I create a promoter’s account?
You need to be invited by an organiser (from their Smartboard, more information here)
-
Can I promoter events from various organisers?
Yes! On your unique email addresses, several organisers can invite you to promote their events. From the portal, you’ll be able to select any events you’ve been activated on, regardless of the organiser.
⚠️ Make sure organisers use the correct email address when they invite you to promote their events because it cannot be changed later on
-
How do I know I’m activated on an event?
You receive an informative email every time an organiser invites you to promote a published event (you’re not notified when the event is still in draft).
-
What about resales and transfers?
When a customer buys a ticket using a promoter’s tracking link and/or coupon, it is counted as a promoter sale. If the ticket is later on resold or transferred, it will still be counted as a promoter sale.
Physical sales ticket cannot be resold nor transferred.
“Promoters only” deal cannot be resold (but they can be transferred).
