Group Tickets let you sell multiple entries in a single purchase, while making sure each attendee receives their own scannable ticket.
They’re particularly useful for exclusive group offers or table / area reservations.

Create group tickets
After creating your event drat, the setup is almost identical to a standard ticket.
Basic ticket options
From your Event dashboard:
- Click Add tickets
- Fill in the required fields: Ticket type, name, number of tickets, price
👉 Learn more Set up your ticketing
Advanced ticket options
- Open Advanced options
- Scroll down and enable Group Tickets
- Define how many tickets are generated per order
💡 Each individual ticket within a group counts toward your total ticket capacity. For example, if your ticket quantity is set to 100 and each group ticket includes 4 tickets, your event capacity will go up to 400.
That’s it, your group ticket is ready.
⚠️ Once your event is published, you can no longer change the number of people per group.
What fans see
On your event page, fans can buy a Group Ticket just like any other ticket.
After payment:
- The buyer receives all tickets by email and in their Shotgun account
- Each ticket has a unique QR code
- The buyer can share individual tickets with friends
⚠️ Group tickets cannot be resold. Only the individual tickets within the group can be transferred to the friends.
💡 Each attendee has their own QR code, so they can arrive and be scanned separately, no need to show up all at once.
Monitor group tickets sales
From your event dashboard
Each ticket generated by a group order counts individually in your total sales.
💡 For example, selling one “Group of 3” ticket counts as 3 sold tickets.
From your Order list
From your event dashboard, go to Orders.
- A group purchase appears as one single order
- You can view the details of each ticket inside the order
💡 If the buyer transfers a ticket, it will be marked as Transferred, and a new entry will appear in the order list for the recipient.
Refund group tickets
To refund a group ticket, all individual tickets must be refunded at once, as the group ticket is considered a single order.
From your event dashboard, go to Orders.
- Select the tickets your want to refund
- Click Refund
👉 For more details, see Refund tickets
💡 Only the original buyer receives the refunded amount.
