Create community exclusive tickets
The more people follow your public Shotgun page, the more impact your launches will have. Followers receive push notifications when you publish new events or release tickets, and you can contact them via newsletters.
Offering a special follower-only price is an effective way to encourage people to follow you. Let’s walk through how to set it up.
Step 1 - Create your segment
Start by creating the segment you want to target.
Log in to your Smartboard.
Go to Marketing > Segments
Click New segment > Create a dynamic segment
In the Marketing section, select Yes for Followers, Subscribed to newsletter, and Subscribed to push. Then click Create segment.

Step 2 - Restrict a ticket to your segment
Now that your segment is ready, it’s time to link it to the right ticket. This is what ensures only your selected audience can access the offer.
👉 To learn more about creating tickets, see Set up your ticketing.
From your Events dashboard, click on your event.
You can:
Create a new ticket via Set up ticketing, or
Edit an existing one via Ticket Listing > Tickets > Edit
Then scroll to Advanced options > Segment restriction and select your segment “Followers”.
⚠️ The first time you add a segment restriction, Shotgun automatically limits the ticket to 1 per user. You can increase the limit afterward if necessary.
Step 3 - Clearly name your ticket and add a description
To avoid confusion for your audience, make the access condition visible directly in the ticket name or description. This helps fans understand who the ticket is for before they attempt to buy it.
đź’ˇ Name examples : "Community Ticket (-xx%)" or "Member only"
Description example: "Follow our Shotgun page and turn on notifications to unlock this special price. Click here to follow our page."
If the email matches the segment, the fans can buy the ticket. If not, the purchase is blocked, and the fan sees an explanatory message.
⚠️ For co-hosted events, only the event owner can manage segment restrictions. Cohosts can export eligible emails and share them with the owner to create a static segment.
