What is the Shotgun Cashback Program
The Cashback Program lets your fans promote your event for you.
Here’s how it works:
- A referrer buys a ticket and gets a personal sharing link.
- A referee (their friend) buys a ticket using that link.
You automatically refund the referrer after the event, depending on the number of tickets sold through their link.
💡 You can also offer a discount to referees (optional).
Example: You set a 10% cashback. One of your buyers shares their link and sells 5 tickets. If their average ticket price is €30, they’ll get €15 (€30 × 10% × 5 tickets). The Cashback Program rewards fans who share your event with their friends.
Activate your Cashback Program
Step 1: Log in to your Smartboard > Open your event > Go to Promote tab > Cashback Program > Activate Program
Step 2: Set your rates
You can define two rates:
- Referrer reward: % refunded to the referrer for each ticket sold after the event.
- Referee reward (optional): % discount applied to invited buyers.
⚠️ Once set, you can only increase these rates, never decrease them.
This avoids confusion among referrers. If you raise rates later, new values will apply retroactively to previous sales.
💡 You can deactivate the program anytime from the same section. Doing so will disable all referral links and stop new ones from being created.
What your fans see
Referrers (the sharers)
- After buying a ticket, fans can find their personal link :
2. They can share their link anywhere: on social media, in group chats, or by direct message.
3. Each time someone buys through their link, they’ll receive an email notification.
4. Their cashback is automatically refunded after your event ends.
⚠️ If a referrer resells or transfers their ticket, they won’t receive cashback.
Referees (the invited friends)
When buying through a referral link, referees will see a short message about the cashback or discount applied.
Monitor your results
You can follow your program’s results directly from the Cashback Program tab on your event dashboard.
You’ll see:
- List of participants (sort by number of tickets sold)
- Total revenue generated through the program
- Total cost (cashbacks + discounts)
💡 The total cashback amount is automatically deducted from your event balance after the event ends.
